The Hobnail Cafe is a small but busy cafe located in the Fox Glacier Guiding Building.
As well as a delicious blackboard menu, we offer an extensive range of deli style food and scrumptious homemade baking. A popular dining and coffee spot for both locals and travellers who are either preparing for their glacier trip or re-fueling after their ice adventure.
- Open seven days, 7.30am - 4pm
- Delicious coffee, cold drinks including milkshakes & fruit smoothies
- Satisfying breakfast menu, tasty lunch, wide selection of sandwiches, pies & baking all homemade with love.
- A friendly enjoyable atmosphere with indoor & outdoor dining
Café Manger Karen James and her team provide hearty breakfasts for visitors about to go on a glacier adventure, and ‘quick food’ so they can refuel afterwards. The tasty meals and baked treats are prepared on site, and the glass cases are kept well stocked all day. The blackboard meals provide for those with a little more time to relax, and the coffee is always hot and very addictive.
Tour guides appreciate that their bus load can ’grab and go’ in twenty minutes. Families are also given a warm welcome, and the café is a perfect place to dry off and warm up little hands on a cold day. When the sun is shining, your whole tribe can sit outside around a Maxi Duncan’s hand crafted kahikatea table.
